Flagship Program
The Mobile Skim Academy
Most kids will never live near a skim beach. The Mobile Skim Academy is GSF's answer: portable skimboarding clinics that bring instructors, equipment and temporary skim pools directly to schools and communities without beach access.
The Academy is the engine of inland expansion. A school in inland Orange County does not need an ocean to hold a first skim session; it needs trained instructors, boards, safety procedures and a controlled water surface that travels. The Academy packages all of it and takes it to where the kids already are.
The long-term ambition is unapologetically large: mobile skim programs operating in every US state, so that a child's distance from the coastline no longer decides whether they ever stand on a skimboard.

The Academy works hand in hand with the School Skimboarding Program, the After-School Beach Clinic Program and Instructor Development and Employment, which begins with a first cohort of roughly 20 instructors and expands statewide and nationally.

Portable Skim Pools In Development
Engineering the water
that travels
GSF is researching and, over time, working toward manufacturing safe, portable skim pools for schools, events, inland communities, demonstrations and adaptive athletes.
This is a safety-first research program, not a product for sale. Before any pool reaches a schoolyard, GSF is studying surface behavior, water depth, materials, supervision requirements and the procedures that make a first skim session predictable for a beginner and manageable for an instructor.
When the research matures, portable pools become the backbone of the Mobile Skim Academy, the adaptive program's controlled training environments, and the long-term vision of skim programs in every US state.
Professional Athlete Support
Paying the athletes who carry the sport
For decades, professional skimboarders have given the sport its highlight reels, its heroes and its next generation of fans, while earning almost nothing beyond contest podiums. GSF is designing a fairer system.
The Professional Athlete Pay Program In Development
A fair system that pays professional skimboarders for appearances, performances, media obligations, mentoring and promotional work, not only contest results. The athletes who show up, teach, sign, film and inspire deserve to be compensated for that labor.
The New GSF Event Format In Development
Youth athletes compete alongside scheduled pro exhibitions, interviews, autograph sessions, photography and public appearances. Kids meet their heroes on the same sand where they compete, and the pros are paid for making that happen.
Competition VisionWhy a charity pays pros
Professional athletes participate in Federation events to attract spectators, increase public interest, inspire new participants and support the growth of amateur skimboarding. Professional participation furthers the Federation's charitable and educational purposes and the growth of the sport as a whole, rather than benefiting individual athletes.

Proving the sport is
already worldwide
Skimboarding is practiced on beaches across the globe, but the world has never seen that reach in one place. The Global Athlete Map collects athlete headshots, countries, disciplines, biographies and contact information to visually demonstrate skimboarding's worldwide footprint.
The map feeds the future Global Member Directory, connecting athletes, coaches, judges and organizers across borders. It is also the foundation of GSF's athlete and community research: surveys covering schools, travel, event formats, Olympic participation, availability and compensation, so the Federation builds what athletes actually want.

Environmental Stewardship
No beaches, no sport
Skimboarding depends entirely on healthy coastlines. Environmental stewardship is not a side initiative for GSF; it is written into the Federation's mission and carried through its programming.
Beach protection, coastal education, responsible event practices and community service run through GSF events, school programs and clinics. Every young athlete who learns to read the shore also learns to protect it, and every GSF event is expected to leave its beach better than it found it.

Telling the story from
its Laguna Beach roots
A sport without its history is just an activity. GSF's Media, Storytelling and Broadcast Development program preserves where skimboarding came from and broadcasts where it is going.

Films, interviews, athlete profiles, event coverage and social media that carry skimboarding to audiences who have never stood on a board, and give the sport the production quality it has always deserved.
The Bryan family archive
The Bryan family's skimboarding archive tells the story of the sport from its Laguna Beach roots: the athletes, boards, photographs and moments that turned a beach pastime into a worldwide action sport.

Preserving and teaching the history, culture and foundations of skimboarding is part of GSF's mission, so that every new generation inherits not just a sport but the story of the communities that created it.
